- Maternity bookings: If you are uncertain if your patient lives within the Women’s local area, please call our triage team on Tel. 8345 2191 or our GP Shared Care office on Tel. 8345 2129 prior to making a referral. If your patient needs further information about our pregnancy booking processes, she can contact the Royal Women’s Hospital Consumer Advocate on Tel. 8345 2290.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH)

- Pre-referral guidelines (click here). Please use the A-Z or 'search' function to find pre-referral guidelines for suggested clinical management before referring to the RCH outpatient department.
Guidelines were written by RCH specialists and reviewed comprehensively by GP working groups. You can print the complete set of guidelines for the specialty or search the A-Z list (via the above link) to print a specific guideline. Please print a parent handout to give your child's parents each time you use the guidelines.

The referral process for Urgent Outpatient appointments is to phone OP GP Liaison Nurse on Tel. 9496 2533 or Tel. 9496 5000 & Page 1006. Discuss patient’s condition regarding urgency. Fax referral letter to 9496 2097 .

Referral and Management Guidelines for each tumour stream, including:
- Clinical information, the specialist clinic's clinicians, and the investigations and diagnostics required for referral which will assist in triaging.
- All referral forms to be used in conjunction with the referral guidelines for each tumour stream.
- All referrals to be to a named clinician as many of our clinics are bulk billed (no out of pocket expenses). If in doubt please address your referral to the Chair of the relevant Clinical Service.
