History

The Division established a Consumer Advisory Group (CAG) in January 2002.
Current members are:

Dr France Lajoie, Ms Razmi Finn, Ms Sophia Mastoris, Ms Dora Pappas, Ms Nikki Pappas and Mr Saleh Al - Jalali.  

The Group is chaired by Division Chair Dr Richard (Rick) McClelland.
The group meets 6-weekly and provides consumer feedback and advice to the Division.

Achievements

Since its formation in 2002 the group has initiated many projects and provided advice from a consumer perspective to Division projects and local health providers.

Group member Dr France Lajoie has written a booklet outlining the aged care system. The small booklet is designed to help members of the community understand options for older family members. Download the Aged Care booklet.

GPs with community language skills have given talks on health issues to local senior citizen's groups.

The group has also developed and helped distribute a pamphlet Choosing and using a GP for distribution in the community.
These pamphlets have been translated into Greek, Italian, Arabic, Turkish, Chinese, Macedonian, and Vietnamese.
