Accreditation

Accreditation assesses the quality of a General Practice against standards developed by the Royal Australian College of General Practice (RACGP).

Standards include services, rights and needs of patients, quality assurance and education, practice administration, and physical factors. The process helps practices identify areas for improvement.

The Division's accreditation program provides information and advice to practices preparing for assessment. Division staff can visit practices and make recommendations, before the practice is visited by specially trained surveyors.
